![]() ![]() Had to configure the monitors the first time and after that as long as I turn on surround with the rig monitors on it seems to remember the layout. For that I toggle the switch and then turn surround on. Only one of the games I run requires nvidia surround, BeamNG. Then you should be able to swap back and forth when toggled. Toggle the switch or the windows+p keys if your not using a switch and then configure the resolution and refresh rate for the rig monitors. ![]() Just get everything hooked up, go to the windows display manager and make sure your refresh rate and resolution is set for the displays on your desk and all the displays for the rig are set to disconnect. I prefer the physical switch but both options should work. If your regular displays are a lower refresh rate or resolution you might want them to be connected to the hub since there will be less display bandwidth available over the hub than the monitors that are connected directly to the gpu. Only the mst hub is required, and you can switch the monitors using the win+p keys on your keyboard. So there are a few ways you can wire it up, and you actually don't even need the switch. The only other concrete solution I have found is to purchase a second graphics card but I'd still like a physical/hardware solution for disabling the sim rig monitors. I personally would prefer to avoid having a second PC dedicated to the sim rig unless absolutely necessary. I'm still in the process of deciding on which displays I would like to get but I plan to buy an MST hub and an additional switch so I'll try to report back here what I find. I'd also be curious if 75hz may even be possible. It seems 1.2 has 21.6Gbps and 1.4 32.4Gbps available and I believe that 3 displays with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 would be around 19.92Gbps, so potentially possible. I've seen a few threads talking about the available bandwidth of display port 1.2 and 1.4. From what I've seen is definitely not possible with any generation of display port but I'm hoping at the very least 1080p or even 1440p at 60hz is possible and that it could be ran through a display port switch similar to the hdmi switch I currently use. I have however recently purchased a triple screen mount to add to my rig and have been looking for a way to easily switch between the desktop displays and the sim rig displays. Being able to quickly switch to the sim rig at the push of a button as been very convenient. The sim rig display runs and I have a secondary display that is on a arm that stays enabled and I just swing it over to the rig for an additional display. 3 of the desk displays are connected via display port and the 4th is connected with hdmi, the desk display and sim display are both connected to a bidirectional hdmi switch that I simply press a button on and windows remembers my display layout that's configured when ever that display is enabled. In my case I have a quad monitor setup for my desk and a single 55' display on my sim rig driven by a 3080. Found this thread while trying to look for a solution to a similar issue. ![]()
